Well, it's been a bit busy in our lives lately. We both started new jobs, been busy with our church callings and family as well. My job is with the HCA Supply Chain in Kaysville. I do the accounts payable side, which I have NO experience in what so ever. I have been there for a couple months now and I am still having a hard time. I feel completely lost and sit and wonder what I do first, and when I am supposed to manually key accounts and pay them...too muc

h too soon. Shawn on the other hand is Self Employed with a company called Network FOB. He is a broker for this

trucking company. It keeps him extremely busy and by the time I get home from work, he

turns around to do a side job with his brother.

So to fit some of our quality time in, we went to Ogden Canyon last weekend to snap a few shots. It was so pretty up there. I also got some more shots of my little sister and her family.

4TH OF JULY

This year we decided to stay close to home for the holiday. It was really nice not having to split between the families and run every where to be here at this time, have to be there at this time...uh uh..none of that!! We talked with our neighbors and decided to get together and have a block party. It was a memorable 4th because it was not like the other ones we normally have. Sure we had bbq and lots of food...I mean LOTS and LOTS of food... We thought everyone would set their food up at their house and we could all wander around and visit. Didn't happen that way...all the food ended up at my parents house, all the chairs were on the lawn, tables with food, and 2 grills, yeah...it was pretty crowded on their small front yard. We had a ton of fun with the visiting and especially the fireworks. Shawn is the biggest pyro around this time of year, he was lighting whatever he could get his hands on. Of course he made his trip to Evanston to make it even better, and it was. There was one mishap that night with a firework. The ones that were pronounced legal for Utah should not be legal. Our neighbor bought an aerial from one of the stands near by, he was so excited to light it and as soon as he did, the first shot went off then knocked the aerial over on its side and the shots were not going straight up in the air...no way...they were shooting at cars, people and in the field next to our house, yep you read that right...the FIELD. Needless to say we did have adrenaline pumping pretty hard when Shawn yelled "Grab the hoses"....WHAT??? Yeah we had a small fire in the field, but thank goodness for all the guys for rushing over there with buckets of water, it was put out and we didn't have to call the fire dept. What a relief! We had the same thing happen at our cousins house on the 2nd. Same dang firework caught their neighbors tree on fire, more buckets of water, hoses and lots of running around. All the boys got that one out too, but the fire dept was called just in case. The tree was up against the lady's house, so we didn't want any hot spots to start a house fire. Thank goodness for the fire dept. WOW....what a weekend!! Hope all of you had a safe and fun 4th!!!

My little sister and her family just moved to Provo recently, and yes, I am a little sad :(

They used to be at my parent's house (my home) all the time and I could play with little Hallie when I came home from work. Now when I come home, Hal not there, I am actually kinda bored. She is so fun to play with, and she is trying to talk now. Last Sunday she said clear as day...Shawn. It was so cute :) She calls me mi-mi, we are trying to get her to say ni-ni, but mi-mi is good enough. I know I took the time they were here for granted and I do regret that, so now when they come to visit I will make time to visit. Miss you guys.

Wow....these pictures really don't do any justice for how much water there is. This is the Ogden river which is flowing very fast, making it very scary. The river is starting to flood the backyard of the peoples homes.

Ok so it's not Lagoon...but Boondocks is still pretty fun! We went with our friends Travis and Teresa to boondocks and spent a good portion of our day there(a few weeks ago). It's so fun to bring the inner child out and play for a while. We played mini golf a few times and each time I got a hole-in-one!!! Shawn thinks he is the only one that's so amazing at golf...think again buddy...think again!! I know, it's kinda lame, but I like the pictures and thought I should post them.

I get this ancy feeling in me that's telling me to get busy and do something fun and productive :)

Grandma's Funeral

We went down to St. George for my Grandma's funeral, and it was so beautiful. The weather was perfect, all the family but 3 cousins were there (pretty amazing), the company was great to be around, and of course the food...so good!!! After the funeral services we had some cousins staying at the hotel we were at, so we all got together and called more of our cousins to come have pizza and just hang out. Well, there were so many of us in the commons area, I guess there were complaints about us being too loud...oops! The next day we all went to a park for a lunch, and that was so nice to hang out, the boys were playing basketball, girls were visiting and the kids were being kids. I am sad that it takes a funeral to get the family together, but it was a great visit!

She lived a great life

We recieved some bad news Jan 28 this year, yeah, bad news already. My Grandma Hall passed away suddenly with her kids by her side. She was such a great Grandma to all of us kids here, and even to everyone else she came in contact with. The one thing I think our whole family remembers about her is the food she always prepared for us while visiting. Her food was amazing!! Didn't matter what she made, it was always so perfect and delicious. One of my many memories of her is being at her house when we were little and she was in the kitchen (of course), grandpa watching tv or doing something outside, and all of us kids just waiting for lunch, or dinner. Nobody could ever pass up her food, there was something in it that we just couldn't resist. Grandma=Food!!! :)

We are sad that she is gone, but we know we are all going to see her again, just as she got to experience with my Grandpa. He has been gone for 15 years and she was just waiting to be with him. I am sure it was great for the both of them to reunite and see eachother again. Love you Grandma!

Christmas

Another year come and gone...geez...why does it go so fast? Shawn and I had a good Christmas this year, we didn't spoil eachother, kinda kept it low key. We both got some clothes for eachother, and good job to Shawn for getting me pants that fit and look cute!! We spent Christmas Eve at his parents, had some great food, played games and opened our presents. I was dreading the rest of our time at his parents cause they always watch Christmas Story...ugh...that movie is horrible, thank goodness there was a lot of noise and no attention to the tv. We spent Christmas morning at my parents, had chorizo for breakfast, separated all the presents and waited for everyone else to show up. My nephew Graiden was so excited for the presents, he helped crawl under the tree to get all the presents out from under to put in their piles..he loved every minute of it. Once everyone was there we took turns opening presents, we ususally let the families with kids go first cause we're not that anxious. It was our turn to open and I was so excited cause I had a big box (which I saved for last) thinking it was a Cricut. I had been talking about getting one for quite a while, and I would hint to Shawn everytime we were at a craft store. I had my nieces help me open the "big box" and as the paper started coming off I looked at the box and saw a hose...cricuts don't have hoses... more paper came off and I saw wheels...Shawn got me a Shopvac. SERIOULSY...A SHOPVAC

Needless to say I was very upset, and I looked at Shawn (he was grinning) saying "it's a shopvac." He told me all the cricuts were out, but he walked away with a good deal on the vac. I don't care...I want my cricut!!! So I went to the bathroom to finish my hair and he followed, my chin started quivering and yeah...I was crying :( I know it's the thought that counts, and presents aren't that important, but it was still upsetting to me. He gave up his little secret and told me I had a cricut at his parents that I was to open later...so I stopped crying, smiled and gave him a hug! He is such a good guy! Anyway...it was a Great Christmas!!!

I have been kinda bummed lately cause our laptop totally crashed about 4 months ago..I felt so lost with out it. My bro-in-law took it to one of his friends and he somehow fixed it, I was so happy to know I have my lap top back...YES!!!
Anyway, back-blogging ahead...

Halloween-

My niece Hallie had her 1st b-day, it was a dress up party and it was so fun to have family and friends there celebrating her birth!

Shawn and I skipped out on a few Halloween parties this year due to his haunted house that he had to do once again. One year I kinda hope it can just be us and friends, and not me by myself while he is scaring the neighborhood. Anyway, as a couple we dressed up, he was a Chef, and I was his Spaghetti & Meatballs. The costumes were homemade, and they turned out to be winning costumes!! I wore my costume to work for a contest, I won 1st place and got a $20 gift card.

I went to Gardner Village with my friend Zjani, we made it a girls night. It was pretty fun checking everything out and getting to see all the other women dressed up. We made our own skirts out of the tule material, and they turned out way cute!

Took some pictures of my sister and her little family, and a couple of Shawn and I...had to get us in.

Another yearly trip to the cabin in September. It was pretty fun this year, Shawn did a little fishing and was catching all the grass hoppers by hand, it was so funny to watch this big man trying to catch such a small creature. He caught one fish with his amazing skills, too bad he had to release it. He had a hard time trying to get it off the hook, it was out of water for so long that once he threw it back in the pond it fell to the bottom and didn't move for a while. Yeah, we thought Shawn killed it...we sat and poked at it for a while, and nothing. Come to find out..he was alive!!! So, I think that's about it for now...hope it wasn't too long or annoying to read.

This lovely laniard is what I was given here at work to put my badge on and represent the hospital, totally fine, no problem doing that. I only have a problem when people start noticing where this laniard is laying...yeah, my boobs. I never put 2 +2 together until people started laughing and saying "not bigger, just better huh" mostly guys... I decided it was time to give up the embarassment and pass it on to someone else who says she is less fortunate in that area!

It was my nephew's birthday a few weeks ago and he wasn't feeling too well, so his parents were taking care of him. That meant nobody was there to help out with the cake, so Shawn and I stepped up and helped out! Grai's theme was Spongebob, it turned out to be very cute! I did the Spongebob cake, the pan was the shape of SB, and it had the divets for his eyes, sponges and everything else. It was actually pretty easy to do. Shawn on the other hand did not have help with his. My dad baked the cake in a square pan and Shawn did free hand for Patrick. It turned out really good! Who knew Shawn had it in him.

I know my posts haven't been much to look at lately, but there hasn't been too much going on with us. Shawn works every weekend, so we only have one day together every other week, when we have that day off, we like to have as much together time as we can. We have been to SLC a couple times to watch shows at the IMAX, then of course we do shopping and our favorite, most favorite place at the gateway is...Rocky Mtn. choc factory!!! Of course it's food!!

I always get the strawberry cheesecake apple, and shawn gets anything with lots of chocolate or candy..what a goof!

7 year anniversary

Wow...we hit 7 years...can't believe it! This year we decided to do what we've done in the past and go to Park City. We stayed the night at Silverado Lodge in the Canyons Resort, it was a very nice room, and the service was great! Shawn had mentioned at check in that we were celebrating our 7 years, so when we got back to our room that night we found chocolate covered strawberries and a card from the front desk saying Congrats!

We rode the Alpine slide and 2 ziplines at the Utah Olympic Park, so it wasn't the original slides, but this one was actually pretty fun! Later that night we went to the arts festival to check it out and just wander around, there were some pretty cool things to check out, but of course it started to rain so we left. Of course we did some shopping..who doesn't shop when they're in Park City??

It was such a nice time to be together and get out of the parents house for a night!

I know I haven't posted for a couple months, but it's just been the same ol' same ol'...

We have been doing some fun things lately, but I too forget my camera. So we've been working a ton, and just hangin out. I will just post some pictures here and there of what we've been up to.

One thing I do have to put in is that Shawn finally got a full time job again...whew!!! He is working at Winco here in Roy doing loss prevention, so if any of you decide to get the urge to steal, you better watch out cause Shawn is on patrol :)

A couple weeks ago we went to Bear Lake with our cousins, the weather was perfect, company was great, but the water was f-f-f-freezing..... It was nice to hang out with our cousins and visit, have a sleep over, stay up and talk all night and watch movies.

Little trip to the zoo

My little sister has been wanting to plan a trip to the zoo for her daughter. Her little girl is Hallie Kate, and she has been more observant and laughing a lot. So we planned our trip last week, the windiest day of the week, but it was pretty fun. We didn't get to see all the animals, come to think of it, we never get to see all the animals which is kind of lame cause you pay your admission fee and are kind of ripped off. The bears were moved to Oregon, and the Zebras have not been replaced since their passing...so on and so on. I got a couple pics of the animals we did see, enjoy!

So I have seen this recipe floating around for the longest time and figured I could never make them, and if I did they wouldn't turn out right. Blah...blah..blah... I enjoy watching the food channel, getting recipes from the internet and anywhere else I can find them, so I have a binder full of recipes that I don't use. In my mind I am so motivated about cooking and baking, but when it comes down to it, I don't even want to try and I find an excuse to not do it. I've been watching my little sister bake and cook for the last few months and I wish I was like her. She wants to cook and make people happy with her food. So I decided to step it up on Monday, I made fettucini alfredo for dinner (i know...pretty simple, at least i am trying) and then for dessert I made homemade oreos. Let me sum it up for you...OMG(goodness) they were delicious!!! Very simple and scrumptious!! Stay tuned...I might try something else :)

Easter

Happy Easter!!! Hope everybody enjoyed their Easter, all the egg hunts, candy, bunnies and can't forget the best....General Conference!! It was so nice to have the weekend to relax and enjoy the holiday with family and to hear the authorities speak during conference. There were some really good subjects they covered, I was glad to have Shawn and I sit down and listen to most of it. Shawn was really interested because of his job with the church. The lighting behind the organ was something he helped with, and every time the cameras changed from person to person he would say stuff like "fade out 1 and camera on 2" technical terms we don't know about! Anyway, Easter was pretty fun this year. We had a brunch here at home with some of the family and then watched conf., had the rest of the family over and had an easter egg hunt inside and out, and ate lots of candy!! The kids were so cute running in the yard trying to find all the eggs, we had some colored balls that confused them, it was so funny to watch them get the ball thinking it was the egg.. :) Shawn and I got eachother a little basket, he got a new golf hat and I got some flowers and some new shoes, it was a very nice holiday! I even learned how to make some cute bows. My sis in law Erin showed me how to make them... let me tell you, I am not as good as her! She has a blog where she sells these bows. Spring is in the air

So I know most of you would agree that the last few days have been AMAZING!!! The weather has been so perfect, not too hot, not too cold...just perfect! I have been catching a little bit of that spring air and I love it! Shawn and I took my nephew Graiden and our dogs to the park and stayed for quite a while, we've been running our usual 2 mile routine...and boy has that been tough :) Before our cruise last year we were running every other day and we wouldn't even stop. Now it feels like we are working extra hard because we've both put on a couple pounds, it feels like we are carrying a few bricks along with us! But, that feeling will soon go away!! Again we are going to try to cut carbonation out and start eating healthier, it wil be hard for Shawn cause he doesn't eat fruits or veggies (such a bugger). Our goal this year is to start running marathons, so hopefully we can make it...even if it's just a 5k!!

Las Vegas

Last weekend Shawn and I took a little trip down south, it was very much needed! We made plans a while ago to meet up in Vegas with our friends we met on our cruise, it was really nice to hang out and visit as much as we did. We left Thursday to St. George, it snowed on us on the way down, but once we got there we had to roll the windows down cause it was such nice weather!!! I can't really say much for Vegas...it was so cold...good thing I packed some jackets and closed toed shoes! We hung out with my cousin Shelley on thursday, it was so nice to visit with her and her little family! Friday we got to Vegas, had dinner and talked forever with our friends. Saturday we went to Brad Paisley's concert, his openers were Justin Moore and Miranda Lambert, it was a really good concert! The rest of our time was shopping, eating and gambling...sad to say we didn't come out ahead on gambling...but seriously, who does?? I was actually very sick the whole time, but I tried to have a good attitude the whole time, I was exhausted but made the best of it! I can honestly say I am glad to be home!!!

Travelocity meets MOTAB

So Shawn was called into work today to help with the program The Spoken Word. It was actually his Sunday off, but once he got there he was happy to be there. The travelocity gnome was visiting the MOTAB and Salt Lake City to promote skiing and other things that you can do in SLC. Our bro-in-law Colby went to the program to see what it is all about and he was able to meet the gnome as well. So here is what Shawn does at work...looks stressful doesn't it?? Enjoy the pictures!!

Oh we also went to dinner at PF Changs with my sis and her husband. It was a relaxing night to get out, eat great food and just have fun!! Thanks for the invite Maddie and Colb! Now in these pics Shawn is trying to teach Colby how to use chopsticks, and I was showing Maddie how to use a fork!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We are fortunate enough to start off the year with some luck! For the last couple months Shawn has been having a hard time with his job at the jail. He wasn't happy when he went to work, he would get really depressed knowing he had to go to the jail for 8 hours of his day. The hardest thing for him was watching people throw their lives away, and not having a care in the world. His supervisor allowed him to take some time off to think about what he wants to do, whether to go back to the jail or find something else. Shawn was pretty determined to leave the jail, but he wasn't having any luck finding a job. A friend in our ward has his own business where he delivers furniture, so Shawn was doing that for a few weeks. Well, another guy in our ward works for the Mormon Tab. Choir and Shawn has been asking if they are hiring, so this guy looked into it and WALA(is it a word?)!!! Shawn now has a job with Mormon Tab. Choir as a lighting tech..YAY!! He is part time for now, but he can easily work his way up. His attitude has changed for the better and he looks forward to going to work, even though its in SLC.

So not only a new job for the new year, but we have both agreed to start school (once again) and further our education. Hopefully we stick with it this time and finish completely!

We like to keep tradition going...we do the same things every year!! Shawn surprised me by getting tickets to Forgotten Carols, he was so sweet to do that. We made it an official date, you know..go out to dinner and him opening the doors for me..you know, the sweet stuff!! We enjoy getting out and hearing the music, the play is ok, and we noticed this year they kind of changed things a bit, in a good way!! I love to listen to the cd during this time of year, it's so calming and heartfelt. This is seriously my favorite, favorite, most FAVORITE time of the year!!! Hope everyone is safe and happy this season!!

It's that time of year again...lights, hot chocolate, hanging out with family..absolutely love it!!! We went to dinner with Shawn's family (minus 3, hope Kaleb gets feeling better Steph) after dinner we went to Christmas village. It was soooo cold outside, but it was fun to get out and check out all the lights! We got in to see Santa, and his house does not smell good...it smells very, very, very old! He wasn't as friendly as the ones in the past so we didn't sit on his lap, we just took pics of the kids and left.

This year was a little different than it has been in a while for Shawn and I. Unfortunately I had to work a full shift that day when everyone else got to work 4 hours, oh well, I barely survived. Anyway, Shawn went with his family to his aunts house for some lunch, it's always nice to get together and visit with that side of the family. So I got off work at 2, headed home and started on my part for dinner. I was lucky enough to do my fruit pizza (easiest thing ever!!) We didn't have a lot of people for dinner which was actually very nice! It was me and Shawn, my two sisters, their husbands and kids. All the food was done, so we sat down and enjoyed our bountiful feast!! It was the quietest Thanksgiving I have ever had, and I would have to say it was one of the best (sorry family, I just like peace & quiet sometimes.) Hope everyone enjoyed their day and ate as much as possible!!

Movie Nights

The last couple weekends we have kept ourselves busy by going to the movie theatre to see the new shows that have come out. We went with Shawns family both times to see these movies, and it was actually pretty fun to go with them! When we saw the Christmas Carol the theatre was packed, mostly with little kids, but I can tell you if I were a kid I would have been freaked the whole time. Some parts were pretty scary and I could hear parents telling their kids that it's not real..it's just a movie.

Then we went to see 2012, and that was totally intense!! I didn't think I would like it, but it was really good. It's a go see kind of movie!!

I know this is a lame post, but I don't really have much to post about at this time....sorry.

Dog Park

The other day we took our dogs to the dog park, and they absolutely loved it!! We thought Koda would've been the biggest dog there...boy we were wrong. There was this great dane there and it was twice the size of Koda, only in height. It was so fun to watch all the dogs play together and get along so well. I am kind of sad that we just barely found out about it cause it closes November 1st..ah man...

Anyway, I know this is a cheesy post, but we don't have kids to brag about yet so we just post about the kids we know...our dogs!!

Will was born Sept 29 @ 5:00pm. His name was Firetruck the whole pregnancy, so when he was born the main question asked was "what's his name?" So we were all pretty excited to see him and put an actual name to him! I am stealing my sis-in-laws pic cause she was so good to have her camera (way to go steph!) He is a stud!!

FINALLY!!! Maddie's pregnancy took forever, I am sure longer for her than for us, but it was a very long wait. The results: beautiful baby Hallie,sShe was born Oct 8 at 9:05pm, 19in long and 6lbs 15 0z. She is such a gorgeous little girl!! I can't wait to play with her when she gets her personality, she will be so much fun!

So I am taking a few classes at Davis High on learning how to use my camera and take better pictures. I've already gone to a few classes and it's actually not too bad, we will be going over our cameras and find out all the settings on them, and learn what the shutter speed should be, and when to use the flash...so much to learn..so little time!! The funny thing is that when I go pick up my pictures at walmart I get questioned every single time.. "are these copyright?" HECK NO!!!! Of course they are all my pics, I would never take from someone else, especially when they work as hard as they do. So I had to sign a copyright form, so when I pick up my pics in the future, they can't ask.

Anyway, I took my little sisters maternity pics a while ago and thought I'd post a few. I am still trying to perfect this skill, so they may not look the best, but I think they turned out way cute! She is happy with them! Now I just have to wait for her little girl to get here so I can take pics of her too, only a couple more days and we will have a new baby!! I am so excited to see her, I love babies!!!

Wow...one week goes by too quickly, kind of makes us sad :( Anyway, it was the most beautiful vacation we have ever been on, so amazing to see the different islands and how people live.
We got to our first stop which was San Juan Puerto Rico. It was pretty late when we checked into our hotel, and we were both hungry so we decided to get some food. So we wandered around the city for a bit before we found something we are used to..Subway, it was so good to have some comfort food!! The next day we still had time to wander around, but it was just way too hot and humid to do anything, we were so uncomfortable, so we checked out as late as we could, then checked into the ship as early as we could. We went on Carnival Victory and visited 7 islands within the time we were on the cruise, every morning we woke up to a new island. The ship would sail at night, and let me tell you, it is possible to feel "tipsy" without drinking!! As soon as the ship would leave port you could totally feel how choppy the waves were, we would be walking down a hallway, or just anywhere on the ship trying to keep our balance, it was so funny to watch all the people around us!

The second island we visited was St. Thomas, the city itself seemed really poor, but the surroundings were beautiful. We booked our first shore excursion for that island to do some snorkeling at Christmas Cove. At the time we were both kind of nervous cause it's kind of scary going into unknown territory, but the water was clear blue and you could see everything before jumping in. We did have a waterproof video camera, but as soon as we put it in the water it didn't work. Later that night we noticed the battery acid was eating through the camera itself. It would have been so nice to record what we saw, we were out for almost an hour. We were able to see stingrays, a baracuda, coral, and schools of fish, at some points the fish were swimming with us!

The third island was Dominica, and that island to me was the best!! Waking up that morning to see all plants, trees, birds, and of course the ocean was what I'd been looking forward to, it was so relaxing. Anyway, we did another excursion which was called "Dominica's favorites" we had a tour guide take us in a van around the island and told us a lot about the way they live, how things are done and what they do to keep the island so beautiful. We walked a couple trails in the rainforest to get to the waterfalls, the first ones we saw were too high and too far for us to get too, but they were breathtaking! Shawn played in the water for a bit while I was of course taking all the pics. After that stop we drove some more and learned a lot about where we were going which was the Emerald Pool. Again it was another trail, it took about 10 min to get to the pool, once we got there everyone was jumping in and having fun. The water was so cold to where I didn't want to get in, but I decided to try and only made it half way.

The fourth island was Barbados. Another excursion was booked and it was for the Wrecked Pirate Ship snorkeling adventure. There was a boat that took us out to the pirate ship, it wasn't too far from the beach, but we were in a pretty deep spot. They roped off the area for us to snorkel, we could only stay so close to the boat which was horrible. As we all got in the water I felt as if we were on the movie Titanic. We were all so close trying to move around, so we were kicking, and splashing, I bet we looked like dorks. We saw a relative to the sword fish, it was a lot smaller and less intimidating, the nose is like rubber, if you touch the nose it would just bend. After snorkeling we went to the beach to play, then back on the boat to dance and have fun!!

The fifth island was St. Lucia, that was our "relax" day, we had nothing planned except to walk around and get a feel for the island. As soon as we got off the ship we were surrounded by tour guides and taxi driver asking what we want to do, and where we want to go...it was crazy. They were giving us prices at $80 per person and they couldn't bring you back, we were not ok with that at all, so we kept turning everyone away. The last guy we talked to said he could take us on a short tour for only $30 round trip for the both of us together, of course we took it!! He took us to the main school, told us some interesting stories of how education started, then he took us to the first prison, Shawn was very interested in that. It was a nice day to learn and relax!

The 6th island was Antigua. Yes it was more snorkeing...at this time we were experts!! We went out on a catamaran to our destination, we were dropped off in the middle of the ocean, no surrounding beaches or anything...it made me worry just a bit. As we all got our gear on to head out in the water the captain just so happened to mention that it is jelly fish season and that we should watch for them and shoo them away with our hands. Ok, WHAT.....yeah it did not fly with a lot of people on board, they went out and were back on the boat within minutes. So many people were so mad because that wasn't mentioned in our excursion. Well, Shawn and I thought it wouldn't be too bad to get out and try it, so before we jumped in I could already see the jellies right by the ladder, I was already freaked. So we get in and start swimming, I thought it was fun for the first 10 minutes or so until I got stung all over on my legs even up to the inner thigh, it scared me so bad that I started kicking them out of my way and made a mad dash for the boat. I was not happy... but Shawn stayed in and swam out further only to find out there were schools of jellies off to his left and right, he didn't get stung so he enjoyed it!

The last island was St. Kitts.....wow..... This island was so gorgeous as soon as we got off the boat, the people really kept it clean and a little more modern. Our last excursion was Beach Extravaganza, and it was the best by far!!! Our driver took us to an area where we could get pics, there was so much water everywhere. We saw the Atlantic ocean and caribbean ocean seperated by a little mountain, it was actually pretty cool to see. After that we went to the beach, grabbed a drink, layed out, and played in the water. The water was so clear and beautiful, which made it easy for Shawn and I to collect seashells, we could see them through the water so we could just go down and grab it not being afraid of what else would be under there.

Well as you can tell by the title, we just celebrated our 6 year anniversary...YAY!!! We didn't really celebrate all out cause we are saving it for our cruise, so Shawn went to work that morning and I went to work that night. He was very thoughtful and got me some gorgeous flowers! He is always so good at that, even when I tell him not to, he still feels generous enough to spend his money!!

We got sealed for all time and eternity at the Bountiful Temple which is beyond beautiful, and I still remember everything about that day! It was such a great day, not too hot and there was some cloud coverage with a little breeze. I am so thankful to have such a great husband, I love him very much, I know it's mushy, but that's how I feel!!!

The other night my nieces and nephews came over to the house, and the first thing they said when they walked through the door was "THE SUN IS ON FIRE, THE SUN IS ON FIRE!!"

It was hilarious to hear them say that, they seemed like they were so concerned. So I got some pics of the sun, and they are actually pretty cool! I tried to get some good pics of the sun in the background of the corn stalks, so enjoy!!!

My oh my...where do I begin?? This month I would say has to be the most eventful month out of the year for my family and I. We have 4 birthdays to celebrate, the 4th and 24th, and of course all the city days going on. I can honestly say that I am kind of tired of fireworks, it seems never ending.............

July 4th: We always go over to Shawn's aunts house for food and fireworks. It's really nice to catch up with everyone on that side of the family and have some fun.

July 10th: MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I have the best birthday ever, I was born on my dad's birthday 25 years ago, so I get to celebrate it with him every year! He always tells me I am the best birthday present he has ever had..oh how sweet!

Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well at all on my bday, all I wanted to do was sleep and curl up. So Shawn took my dad out golfing for his present. Later that day Shawn asked again and again if I wanted to do anything, I just kept telling him no that I don't feel good. He told me that we were going to dinner so I'd better pick something, we ended up at Texas roadhouse. It was actally a fun day considering the situation. Later that week Shawn and I went to Toads for some mini golf and games!

July 19th: WSU fireworks..They were awesome this year!! We layed blankets out the night before and got an amazing spot, we had to lay down to see them and it was so fun. It did start to rain that night, thank goodness for the extra blanket!! My brother and his family came to hang out, and our friends Zjani, Jared and their little girl Makayla. The best part of it all...NO TRAFFIc.. we always get away pretty quick with our little scooter!!

Shawn got me Kenny Chesney tickets for my bday, there were supposed to be 4 performers that night, but there were 3. One of the main reasons I wanted to go was for Sugarland. I love her music. Unfortunately she lost her voice and cancelled....bummer :(

By the time we got there we missed one performance by Lady Antebellum, they aren't too bad.

We saw Miranda Lambert and K Chesney. It was fun to be there with Shawn and dance in the stands! Thanks Babe, love ya!!

July 24th: Pioneer day and more fireworks!! We ended up celebrating all of the bdays that night at my parents house. When it got dark Shawn darted out the door to set up his fireworks. That kid loves, loves, loves fireworks!! He put on a pretty good show with all his "fun" fireworks!

To start the day we went to Riverdale Days parade. It was actually really nice because there weren't that many people there, we got a decent spot to sit and we were right up front so all the kids could get their candy. The whole parade was quite entertaining, there were lots of firetrucks, horses and cheerleaders. We were all having fun and enjoying ourselves until...dun, dun, dun...Bonneville student officers came by with water guns. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to get people soaked, cause a lot of people were NOT happy. Which brings me to my sis in law Erin, she was holding her baby Brooke when the float came by, she got wet by one of the kids, then Shawn decides to tell the kid to keep getting her wet...not the best idea. She ended up getting drenched, the kid threw a bucket of water on her and Brooke. What a JERK...

After the parade we went to the booths to get the kids faces painted and let them go down an inflated slide, it was really fun to watch them.

We then started making dinner, we had shish-ka-bobs and lots more food. I made a fruit pizza and it was soooooooo.....good and it looked beautiful!!

During the cookout Shawn decided to get some plastic that we had left in storage and brought it home for a slip n' slide. It was so funny to watch him and my brother have so much fun slip n' sliding!

Then we got cleaned up and went to our aunt's house in Plain city for some more food and visiting. We always go out there every year for a bbq, volleyball and a great firework show!! All in all we had a really great holiday!!!

You know how your lives get so busy and you forget to update evryone on how you are...yeah that's me!! I have been such a slacker and I am sorry. It's always so nice to see when people update, so here is an update for all of you!

Of course we've been busy with work as most of you are familiar with, we've been having fun in the summer sun and enjoying eachothers company.

Shawn and I have been running about every other night, I do 2 miles and he does 4. We are trying to get in shape for our cruise which is about 53 days away...SO EXCITED!!!

We got to house sit a house here in our neighborhood for 2 weeks, which was kind of wierd but it was fun at the same time. This house has a projection screen and a nice sound system, so we had some friends over one night to watch Gremlins. That movie is so 80's, it was actually funny because remembering it as a child I was scared, but to see it now, oh my gosh! Of course we've been going to lagoon off and on and the drive in, and just hanging out. We went to South Ogden days the other night with our friends from Oregon, that was a lot of fun!

Oh Shawn signed up for school once again, he will be starting at the end of August. I am so proud of him, hopefully he will stick it out and get his career..fingers crossed!!!

So there's our life story for the last month, sorry for the long delay, I will try do do better next time!!

Almost another month gone and another post, I figure about one post a month is good! Anyway, last week we all decided to go to the zoo as a family, most of the fam went, some had to work. We ended up taking all the kids with us, the only one who was prepared was my sis in law Erin, I was so thankful she came with. I had no idea what to pack, all I packed was myself and hand sanitizer! We were all excited to see the Madagascar exhibit, but to be honest it was actually quite boring, there were only about 5 animals to see. We got lots of pics, can't post all of them, but I will post some.

Since we got our Lagoon passes we try to go at least every other weekend when I have off. My parents and sis/bro-in-law got passes too so they can come with us. It has actually been really nice going and not being so hot, lines aren't too long and it's not so crowded. Here are some pics of this last weekend, we went with my parents and took my nephew too.

One more thing..Shawn and I took the dogs to the park the other day. We let the dogs run around and play, it was a really nice day to be out!! I got lots of pics of the blooming trees, they were so gorgeous!!

To be or not to be....

This post is all about Shawn, so one day he decides to just out of nowhere to sport a 'stache.' What the heck?? I don't mind when he grows his little patch under the chin, or if he has a goatee, but this time he went too far....he grew a frieken moustache...aaaaaahhhhhhhhh.....

I cannot stand moustaches, they are so ugly!!!! Don't get me wrong, some people can pull them off, but poor Shawn did not stand a chance in my eyes. I felt so bad the whole week he had it, I was saying rude things to him all the time, I didn't even want to kiss him cause it hurt and I didn't want to be near that thing. He tells me the only reason he tried it is cause at work the only facial hair they can grow is the stache, nothing else. So he just wanted to show his friends at work that he could do it, and most of them complimented him on it. At some points it didn't look too bad, so I can't say he is totally unattractive with it.

Thankfully he shaved it a week later, after he showed it off to everyone at work. I came home to such a great surprise!!!

Yesterday (sat) we all got together as family for such a special day...it was our oldest niece's baptism. We as her family are all so proud of her for making such a great choice in her life, it's the biggest one she's had to make yet!! Jaycee looked so beautiful yesterday in her white dress, and you could see it in her face that she was so happy to get baptized!! After the baptism we all went to Jen and Brants house to change and pick a place for dinner, we chose to go to Famous Daves...who doesn't like a good ol' bbq after such a great day?? Nothing much goin on

Ok, so Easter was a couple weeks ago and I am just barely posting about it...go ahead and call me a slacker!!! It was a very nice day, and I was actually very surprised that my whole family had the day off. Of course we went to church, well only sacrament cause we had to go to Shawn's parents for lunch. When we got to his parents house we got to visit with both sets of grandparents and play with all the nieces and nephews there, it was a full house! Then we came back to our house where we had my whole family there, and of course more food. We ended up having bbq chicken and ribs, potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs and so on and so on...

On to the egg hunts-at Shawn's parents the kids all got a bag and went to the front to find the eggs with their first initial on them, they each got 6 big eggs (my m-i-l is so organized) and a basket..so much candy!!

At my parents we got a ton a little eggs filled with candy, and 6 big eggs with candy and money. We hid all the eggs in the backyard, and we wanted to make it more confusing for the kids so we got some colored plastic balls and put them all over the yard too..then my sis in law came over and put squeeze its, crackers, marshmallow treat bags, and so much more, she made it so much fun with all that. Needless to say, we all ended up with goodies and full bellies that night!

My little sister Maddie and I took Grai to Wendy's to grab a snack before we went to play with the ducks. As we sat down on a bench to have our fries and nuggets, Grai wanted a fry and ended up dumping all the fries on the ground. That's when all the ducks started coming up toward us, they only like us when they want something. So we fed them, chased them and wathced them swim around. It was a beautiful day to be outside, I love this weather!!!

2nd trip to Oregon

So we left last Wednesday about 530 in the morning to head out for our long ride to Oregon. Almost the whole drive there it was either lightly snowing or raining, but all in all it wasnt' too bad of a drive until we got the Deadmans pass in Oregon. I could tell by the way the clouds looked that it wasn't going to be a pleasant drive through, and sure enough I was right. Every truck driver stopped on the right side of the road to chain up, and I was wishing we had chains at the time too, but obviously we did alright. So on to our fun...the whole reason for the trip was to surpise our friend Travis for his birthday, and in the post before this you saw that we tried to find a mask or something to disguise ourselves. We got pom pom hair and bandanas to cover ourselves up, it was ok for the time, but he knew it was us as soon as he opened the door..man, way to blow our cover. Anyway, that night we took it easy and got some pizza and watched The Happening, that movie was actually pretty good, not even scary. The next day we took the bus to downtown Portland, and I will tell you that we saw so many creepy people out there and yes, we were scared....no, we just felt a little out of place cause we weren't aspiring musicians trying to make money. We went to the mall, had some lunch and walked to our favorite doughnut shop which is Voodoo Doughnuts to grab a treat. Afterward we continued to walk around, but then we decided we had enough so we took the bus back home and got ready for some golf...geez. Of course we had to do some golfing for the boys entertainment, so we went to the childrens course they have and played 9 holes. Friday we all got ready and packed some stuff so we can go on the best part of our trip, we went to Depot Bay which is right next to the ocean...it was gorgeous, but of course, it was raining..bummer. We got there about 630 pm because we stopped at a casino on the way and lost our money, it was fun while it lasted. So we get to our condo and we were told by the guy at the desk that we have one of the best rooms, we had 3 rooms, 3 baths and a full kitchen, living room and fireplace. The best part of the room was the 3 balconys we had, they were all overlooking the ocean....aaaaahhhhhh.......so relaxing. Our room got a little hot during the night so Shawn opened our sliding door a bit and all we could hear were the seagulls, and waves crashing on to the rocks, it was so beautiful. Needless to say...it was raining, of course :( so we didn't want to go the beach and get drenched just for some pictures, so we just took as many as we could from out balconys. So it wasn't too long of a trip, but it was well worth the drive, we had lots of fun with our friends!!

So this is a post of us just messin around, being bored and yeah we had some fun. This was during the week, we both had the day off so we decided to go about on the town. We were out looking for a mask to surprise our friend this weekend and there wasn't really anything worth looking at. Although we did find something I thought was hilarious, they were plastic wigs. Shawn couldn't find one that fit his head, everytime he would put one on I would see it start stretching in the creases, but he still wasn't afraid to put one on! Anyway, hope you enjoy these pictures!

Phantom of the Opera

Last Friday my mom and dad took a few of us to SLC to the Hales Center to watch Phantom of the Opera. Honestly I wasn't looking forward to going, I have never been into the musicals or stuff like that, so I was kind of downing it the ride down. Well, we get done with dinner and head over to the show, it wasn't the biggest theatre, but boy there were tons of people everywhere. I would say the theatre probably holds about 200-ish people, so it was pretty small and the stage was front and center. The stage would open, things would come up from the bottom and lower down from the top, there were so many props. So all in all...I ENJOYED IT!! We came home and started watching the movie, only cause my sister said Gerard Butler played it so much better and he's much easier on the eyes than our phantom. The one at the show was a little bit on the heavy side and he has a recieting hair line...not the best to look at but he sure was a great singer. So if you want to go see it, check it out at the Hale's Center, it was well worth it!!

We celebrated Shawn and my niece Bree's birthdays together cause they are in the same month and it was just easier to do. This was a few saturday's ago, I am not that consistent with the blogging so that's why I am just getting to it right now. We had the party at home, of course there was a barbecue, cake and ice cream. This year my sis in law Erin made the cakes, I asked if she wanted to buy them and she wanted to do them herself, she had some ideas. I told her just to make one bigh girl one for the both, but her daughter Emma told her not to make a girl cake for Shawn cause he's not a girl, he needs something he will like. So suggestions were thrown around and a decision was made, Emma said to make hima jail cake cause he likes the jail, such a creative girl!! So Erin made a jail cake for Shawn and a cute butterfly one for Bree. Everything was so good and so much fun. Of course Bree got clothes and hair stuff, and Shawn got his golf shoes and an X-box 360, so he's pretty much set until his next b-day. Enjoy!!

I thought I'd put up some more pics of our trip, I took so many but can share so little. Here are some pics of the Trump Hotel, my little sis and her husband stayed there. That hotel was actually very nice, fancy and very, very sparkly. Come to find out that there is no casino in there, no clubs or anything fun, just like Donald Trump...but on the bright side it was the cleanest hotel I'd ever been in, it didn't even smell like smoke...wow!! Anyway, here are pics of that and here are some of us and my Grandma Hall. Like I said we went to visit her in St. George and we had such a good time.

Vegas Vacation...finally!

Last weekend me, my sisters and our husbands went down to St. George, stayed there one night and then headed off to Las Vegas. While we were is St. George we stayed at my uncle's condo and my cousins Shelley & Kyle stopped by to visit, we didn't do much cause we were pretty much tired from the drive so we sat and talked for a few hours. We got to see their precious little girl Eden, she is adorable! Saturday we went to see my Grandma Hall, she is in her own little apt, but she still needs help once in a while. She looked so good and she was so happy to see all of us, we stayed for a couple hours visiting and remembering the past...good times! On to Vegas, we got there Sat afternoon about 2, checked in to our hotel which was The Palace Station (perfect for Grai cause he loves choo choo wains) we only paid $25 a night, we shared the room with my sis and her husband and got a pretty good dang deal for our money. Of course we went gambling, sat in the hot tub, swam in the pool and just relaxed for that night. My little sis is pregnant so we couldn't really walk anywhere too long with her cause her back pain, so we didn't walk the whole strip, just some. Sunday was Shawn's 26th birthday...YAY!!!! Everywhere we went to eat we tried to get the staff to sing Happy Birthday, and of course nobody did, I was very dissapointed. :( Anyway that day we went to the fashion show mall to check things out, that mall is so big it's way to hard to pick just one store to go to. For lunch we went to a buffet called the Feast, we stood in line for almost an hour just waiting for a table, but once we got to our table there was so much food...bring it on!!!

Later that night we got tickets to Tournament of Kings, so we got there by about 630 and I went to tell this lady that it was Shawn't bday and was wondering if she could announce it, of course she did. Once the show was getting ready to start the announcer made the announcement for Shawn and the spotlight was right on him. I was so happy they did that for him, it made his night. So like I said, not so much walking around and sightseeing, it was more of just a relaxing vacation. Enjoy the pics!!

Valentine's Day

This year Shawn and I agreed on no gifts for eachother, but of course he went and ruined that by getting me something. His gift to me was by far not the "sweetest" but it was nice and somewhat needed. He got me a Seagate, which is an external hard drive for our computer, it's so nice to have so now when I take pictures with my new camera I am able to download them on there. It wasn't the cheapest gift either, so I thank him very much for thinking of me. He didn't stop there, he of course bought me flowers, my faves gerber daisies, and he planned a dinner for us, we went to Maddox. My experience inside the restaraunt was not the best, it was just alright, with an exception, the raspberry butter and rolls....oh my goodness...delicious~!!! Anyway it turned out to be an alright day, my husband is so sweet to me, and I feel like a cheap-a cause I just got him a dvd and some candies.. It's ok cause I am making it up to him with his birthday this weekend, we are going to Vegas!! Hope everyone else had a great V-Day :)

Getting in shape

As all of you, we have made the same resolution...LOSE WEIGHT!! Every New Years I know we all start thinking of what to do to better ourselves and the main goal is to get in shape, go to the gym and yada, yada, yada... Shawn and I joined the gym by our house which is so convenient, it's about 4 minutes away and it's open 24/7. I would have to let you all know how proud I am of Shawn, he is really, really dedicated to working out and getting to the gym everyday, if not the gym he is running outside, what a guy!! He recently applied for Davis County to see if he can go through the academy there. He got a letter back from them pretty quick informing him that his physical test is on April 16th, YAY!!! So we are hoping that he can pass this and get hired on there, he will be done with the academy and actually be considered a sheriff. Wish us luck with our resolution!!!

Choo Choo Wain

This past Saturday was my day off, so I was looking forward to either going shopping or just hanging out. Well my bro in law had the day off too, so it just being us and my nephew Grai we decided to get out for a few. Graiden loves, loves, loves choo choo's, he talks about them all day,and he goes through the house yelling "choo choo wain", and "all aboard" That's the whole reason for the spelling on the title. Anyway, we took the front runner from Roy to Ogden to the Union Station, we went and looked at all the trains they had there, it was pretty cool to get inside them and see all the components in there. Some of the trains were very interesting, most of them rusted and scary to climb on, but it's always worth a try. So we looked at the trains, walked for a while then went to lunch at a greek restaurant. I stopped trying new food ever since I got married, Shawn won't even eat a salad.. there has to be some compromise there. On to lunch, Ellis (bro) kept asking if I had eaten a gyro, no, I heard they weren't that good so why waste my $$ right, so I kept my lunch simple. It was actually a very nice day out, it wasn't even that cold and the sun was out shining!! When we got done with lunch we went back to the front runner to go home, as the train came to our stop we went to push the button to open the door, they wouldn't open....aaaahhh,.... Not to worry we were only going to Clearfield, well we sat there for about 35 minutes waiting and waiting, let me tell you how thankful I am for the sun, it kept me warm the whole time. We got home just fine!!

Frustrated

Do you ever have those days that you feel nothing goes the way you hoped?? I have been feeling that way for such a long time, I know that I shouldn't feel bad for myself but it's so hard not too. Most of you might know what I am talking about, some probably not. Most days I don't even feel motivated to do anything, it's hard for me to be happy for everyone when I can't even feel that about myself. This is not supposed to be a "pity post" but I just had to get some frustration out.

I know things will happen when it is the appropriate time, so we just sit and wait some more. No more tears and doubt. Patience is a virtue.

Good news....well for me that is, I've been off carbonation for one month now..YAY!!!!! It's been about 3 months without caffiene, and Shawn decided to support me on this so he stopped all in all too. It isn't as bad as people say it is, I never got headaches, but I do crave pepsi here and there. Ok, so to be honest the other day while I was working in the ER the temptation hit me, they have a pop machine in the back and I decided to get some sprite. I took it back in the office with me and stared at it for a while, contemplating on whether I should try it. So curiosity sunk in, I took a little, tiny, itsy bitsy sip and I did not care for it too much. All I could taste was sugar, so I went and dumped it.

It's been very easy for me to turn down pop, and I plan to keep it that way. Unfortunately Shawn's dad just handed him a caffienated pepsi tonight and temptation got the best of him, he drank it.... So back to square one. He said we can splurge and have one drink a month, he will get whatever and I might, might get a caffiene free drink, if I even do that. I am trying so hard not to drink it anymore. My doctor told me that couples having a hard time getting pregnant are advised not to drink caffiene, so I've been doing it for that main reason. Hopefully it will be easier when I get pregnant to stay off caffiene, I don't want to end up with crazy babies!!

Date Night...or nightmare

Shawn and I have not been on an official date in the longest time, which is kind of depressing. First of all we have no kids, I don't understand why we don't make this more like an every other week thing. I have noticed that he and I are more like homebodies, which is not a bad thing at all, we like to relax and hang out with eachother. I know most couples like to go out in groups all the time, I don't have a problem with that, but when Shawn and I don't really go out together, just us, I like to spend most of my time with him. Anyway, so we planned a date last saturday, I picked the movie and got the tickets, he was supposed to plan dinner. He had to work that day, he normally goes in at 6 am and gets off at 4. So I was patiently waiting at home, by this time it was 430, waiting, waiting, waiting...what, no phone call. He doesn't have a cell, so could he have been in an accident??? Could he have stopped somewhere unexpected??? Again, how am I supposed to know without a phone call... It is now 6:00, what the heck. I am complaining to my sister and contemplating on whether I should call my in-laws, but why worry them. So 6:30 comes around and I get a phone call...yay!!! He got stopped by his chief for a yearly interview, and he clocked out at 5, I guess now he gets off at 5 every saturday, new to me. Anyway, I am mad at this point and don't care to eat or do anything, but we still went to the movie to laugh a little bit. Of course no dinner plans, so we get to the megaplex and get a 4 piece pan pizza..mmmm........fulfilling!! We get in to see our movie which is pretty funny, we are both Kevin James fans. This movie is rated PG and it is clean, no swear words at all!!

So that night only turned out bad because of my attitude, sorry Shawn.

It's hard to have a good time when you wait anxiously for a good night and then have plans change. I guess you live and learn. Sorry to complain, but I had to get it out :(

Anyway, very good movie, I do reccommend it only if you have one of those personalities where you can laugh at anything!!

Down the hill, up the hill....

The other day the Hall gang decided to go out and and some fun in the snow. We went to Mt Ogden Park to go tubing. We were all bundled up ready to face the cold, and of course it got so warm during play time that we all started taking our coats and scarves off. I was really nervous to go down due to an experience I had a while back. Shawn and I were at Rhomer park going tubing, we went down on the same one and I got scared so I tried to stop us and ended up with my ankle under the tube, yep, I sprained my ankle. Anyway, it all turned out to be some good ol' fun that day, I was going down the hill with all the kids. We took a few snow tubes and a few pook tubes, snow tubes worked out great, the pool ones...ah not so great. So we didn't have enough tubes for everyone, which was fine cause we still had fun watching everyone go down the hill. It was hilarious to watch the kids go down by themselves cause there wasn't an adult to hold them down, my nephew Graiden was going down with Emma , they hit a bump which caused Graiden's legs to fly up in the air. These pictures were taken with my new camera and I absolutely love the way they turned out, they are mostly black and white, but it's ok!

Fireworks, fireworks, fireworks...

We had a very fun and bright new year, it was extremely loud as well. Shawn had recieved a lot of fireworks, about $900 worth, and he got them for free. I can't stand fireworks, only the illegal ones because I know he can get in trouble for it, and where he works at the jail he can lose his job. Anyway, he absolutely loves fireworks, everything about them, lighting and watching. So for new years eve Shawn and I went with his brother Todd, his wife Anna and their daughter Reese to watch Marley & Me. It was such a cute movie, we were told to go in with tissue cause we would definitely need it, they weren't kidding. After the movie Todd dropped us off at home so Shawn could get his firework display set up and ready to go. My sister wanted to help him light all of them off, so she brought some friends over to watch. We were the only ones in the neighborhood lighting fireworks, so in a way I felt kind of bad for the neighbors, but hey it was a time to celebrate. Anyway, we had a great new year and we hope everyone else did as well!!!

Can you believe Christmas has already passed??? This year has gone by too fast, in fact, the last few years have gone by a lot faster than what I am used to. This time of year is so busy for everyone, the running around, buying this, going to this party, when does it ever end??? Then out of nowhere, the presents have been opened, visiting all the family in town, and watching a show has come and gone. I absolutely love Christmas, not just for the presents, it just brings such a happy feeling to everyone, well almost everyone. So here is how Shawn and I spent our Christmas.

Every Christmas Eve we have dinner at his parents house and open one present, oh and we always end up watching The Christmas Story...(aaahhhhh), after watching it time after time it kind of gets old, sorry to say. This year we changed it up, we went to my brother in laws house for the Eve, we had our original dinner and watched The Grinch.

I had to work 3-7 pm Christmas Eve and 7-11 am Christmas morning which caused a damper on my holiday, but I still had enough fun for the holidays.

Christmas day after I got home from work my brother and sisters along with spouses and kids all got together and opened so many presents!! We went to my in laws that night and got our presents from them, ate some more then tried to drive home safely in that snow storm we had.

Well, we hope everyone had a great Christmas and we hope you all have a Happy New Year!!!

McCrary Christmas Party

Every Christmas Eve the McCrary side of the family gets together at classic skating for our annual party. It's actaully real fun because we never see that side of the family so the games keep us occupied and entertained. We always take doughnuts and drinks for our refreshments which is nice for our grandparents that put it all together, it saves them a few bucks. Last week Shawn and I went to Temple Square with my siblings, their kids and my cousins. We thought it was going to be freezing cold outside, it was actually comfortable weather to see the beautiful Temple and lights. Here are some of the gorgeous pics I took of the temple.

We all stopped to pose, and surprisingly enough we got all the kids to look forward and they were totally silent, it was amazing!! After our pose we went to see the Christus, I didn't go right up to it cause it was very packed in that room and we decided to take a peek and leave, but it was very calming and beautiful. My cousin Michelle hooked us up with some sweet treats, she made chocolate popcorn balls and they were actually very good, I'm not a big fan of chocolate but these were delicious!

Last Friday some of Shawn's friends from highschool had a Christmas party which was so much fun. Robyn hosted it and she did an excellent job, especially with the food, it was fantastic!! Anyway, I didn't take my camera with me, but Alicia took some pics (i took these from her blog, thanks alicia) We ate lots of food and talked for hours, it was really fun to see Shawn talk with his friends and go back in the day of highschool. A few months ago Shawn was at work doing his usual change outs, which is taking new clothes to the inmates and gathering the dirty ones to wash. He was pushing one cart and pulling one at the same time, these are pretty big carts to do two at a time. While he was moving, the one in back snagged his left foot and basically rolled on it, his foot didn't move cause the traction on the bottom of his shoe, so he and a co-worker heard abut five pops from his foot. Come to find out, we went to see the dr and he said from the xray that there is a broken bone in his foot that if he were to keep it there he would be in pain the rest of his life, after thinking about it, he decided he wanted to take it out. His surgery was on the 11th, the procedure was only 30 minutes, but they left a pretty nasty looking incision.

It's been a couple weeks since my last actual post so i thought it was time to get it together and do some show and tell. My sister, her boy Graiden and I went to the Union Station to play on the choo choos, Grai loves those and he was so happy to see them. The whole time he was saying "choo choo wain", and "ALL ABOARD" it was so cute to watch him.

Christmas Trees

Our current living situation here at my parents makes it pretty fun to decorate. Shawn and I put up the decorations the day before Thanksgiving and we decided to use my parents tree, our tree and my sisters tree. Yep, we have three trees in our house and I love it!! It's so nice to go to one room, or downstairs and see the decorated trees, it's nice to have some variety. My tree is red and white, my parents is multi color and my sisters is blue and white, all with different themes.

Christmas Village

The other night Shawn's side of the family decided to get together for dinner and lights. We went the the pizza factory at the junction, then afterward we went to Christmas Village. It was freezing cold at the village, we didn't see the whole park because we were seeking shelter at Santa's house. It took about 20 minutes of standing in line to see santa, our nieces and nephews all got to sit on his lap, and since shawn and i stood in line we figured we better do it too!!

Happy (early) Thanksgiving

Instead of being like everyone else this year, my family decided to celebrate Thanksgiving just a couple days early. We have our reasons for choosing to do so, my little sis Maddie is having her gallbladder taken out on Wed, and my bro and his fam might be a little busy this weekend going to Southern Utah. So we thought it would be nice if all the family could get together and enjoy eachothers company. It was actually very nice doing it earlier, we got all our shopping done on Sat, and it wasn't as busy as it will be on Wed.

So I guess we are going to start a new tradition every year with the rolls, it's actually a pretty funny story. Last year while the rolls were in the oven, the pan was a little too close to the glass and when the oven warmed up the pan cracked/shattered the glass. We were all together in the front room when we heard a loud noise, sounded like a big boom, so we all run into the kitchen to see what happened and notice the glass on the oven, good thing it was still under warranty! Anyway this year we made quite a few rolls, so this one's ok. When getting the rolls ready, my dad sprays pam on selafane wrap and covers the rolls. Maddie put a pan in the oven upstairs and the other 2 went downstairs, all cooking at once. The ones upstairs (maddie put in) were done and my bro and Shawn were testing them, they noticed plastic all over the top of the rolls... Something always happens on the big holidays, and it's so much fun to have the family around to experience it! We also played scattegories, it's a family thing, and we don't always play for serious just for fun. So here are some pics of that too.

Twilight.....

So a couple of my friends (kim and zjani) and I went to see Twilight on saturday, we chose a matinee, the cheaper the better right... anyway, to start with the agony me and Zjani were starving and we sat by a row of girls who had platters from what looked like costa vida..man that was pain. Once the movie started we were done drooling, the movie took our minds off the food. All in all I was not that interested in the movie, I had read the book, but the movie totally ruined it for me. My sister said she left after 45 minutes of watching, she couldn't handle it anymore, she said it was like a bad porno. Wow, she wasn't kidding... it was so awkward, the staring and the heavy breathing, seriously get it done and over with already. Ok, ok..it wasn't the worst movie I had ever seen, I liked the baseball game cause that was probably the most entertaining part of the movie. I hope the second movie is a bit better than this one.

Early Christmas Present

I know this isn't the best time to even think about getting a truck, but we did. Shawn's brothers Todd and Chad both have trucks and that really got Shawn thinking that he needs one too, oh bother. Anyway, I gave in to letting him get one after he'd looked almost every hour of every day at tons of websites, dealerships, and even just around the neighborhood, he never seemed to give up, very determined. So this is our new truck, it's a 2004 Nissan Titan, it has the shell that came with it and it's actually pretty nice. I am just hoping that gas doesn't go up $12.00 a gallon...or else...dun, dun, dun....

It's that time of year for basketball...GO JAZZ!!!

My family and I love to watch the Utah Jazz during basket ball season, we keep up on every game. So far this season has been very tough on them, they are out on 4 of their starters, but all in all they have been doing pretty good for themselves. Anyway, the night before I had my surgery my sister, her husband, shawn and I all went down to this is the place for a halloween scare. They had a maze set up with a ton of scary props, and they even had the headless horseman....it was so much fun. After we finished the maze i decided i had to get something in my stomach before i had to fast, so we stopped by good ol' mcdonalds. We just wanted to order and go, so we went through the drive thru and the guy who helped us asked if we like basketbal...duh, who doesn't?? He mentioned that some of the jazz players were in there, so me and my sister got out of the car and ran inside to check it out. Maddie went right up to Boozer and started talking to him, he was sitting next to C.J. Miles, keeping their distance of course, and I was standing up just hangin out. I didn't talk cause I felt bad, they are normal people who need to eat, so i didn't want to interrupt their dinner, I even had my camera in my pocket, but I didn't want to act like the paparazzi. Anyway, we saw C.J. miles, boozer and ronnie brewer, they are sooooo.....tall!! It was a pretty good night overall!!

Here is a just because post, not much goin on right now, so here it is. The other night we were hanging out in the front room and just relaxing, even the dogs were tired. It's so cute when our dogs get tired, they know when it's getting close to bedtime, it doesn't matter where they are in the house they will circle around and find a comfy spot to lay down. Koda found her place to lay down, but Harry, ever since we shaved him he thinks he belongs on the couch, bed and our laps, he is just being a hairless baby. So Shawn was laying down on the ground and since no one would let Hare on the couch he decided to jump on Shawn's back and lay down, it was so cute to see him snuggle up to shawn.

Well as you all know another month has come and gone. It seems like the months are just going by faster and faster, which is kind of sad. My favorite thing about halloween is the decorating and all the fun it brings. As i have posted before about our liking to decorate, play and dress up, it is absolutely the best part of october. This year however was a HUGE dissapointment...Shawn had everything ready for the trick-or-treaters, his props, chainsaw and of course all the candy. We had just got home from visiting shawn's family and having our dinner, chili and breadsticks..mmmm....when we noticed the church parking lot completely full of cars. We were so upset about that cause we were told no trunk-or-treating this year :( Anyway, we had about a dozen kids show up, and no scares. So i went with my nieces and nephews over to the church and got to see all the costumes the kids were wearing.

My bro-in-law Ellis dressed up for his work and needed some help, so who other than me and shawn. We did his makeup the night before halloween, then we woke up at 430 to touch it up before he went to work. He was a dead "hangman" we made him up to look dead, like he was hung, then we played hangman on the back of his shirt. It was pretty funny! My nephew Grai was watching us do his dad's makeup so he wanted to play too, good sport! Anyway, ellis ended up winning 1st place for his costume and won gift cards to lonestar restaraunt, so he gave shawn and i one of the cards so we can enjoy. What a nice guy!!

Well the past couple days have been kind of a drag...i just had a lap with laser surgery on tuesday. So i have been down for the last couple days, and it has been so miserable and boring, which would have given me lots of time to blog, but...you know how that goes. Anyway, my surgery went well, it was only a 45 min surg, but i was told to go in at 1145, then i got a call saying come in at 1245 pm, so i did. As soon as i checked in i was called to do a pee test, so that was quick, but once that was done with i sat for about another couple hours. I got into surgery about 4:00 pm, which got me out of the hospital, recovery and all about 7:30 pm. My doctor went to consult shawn about what he found and what he did. He did say that i had endimetriosis that was crowding my right ovary, so he lasered all of it off, he also mentioned that i had some endo around my colon area, removed that also. I am thankful i got this done, now i won't be in so much pain month to month. Doc also said with the removal of the endo i should be able to get pregnant, he said i couldn't have got prego with all that crowding my ovary. So we are hoping something happens soon!!! Anyway, more blogging after halloween!!! See ya later...

If you remember from the last post i mentioned what was stolen, most of it replaceable, but at what price?? Well, the same day it all happened we ended up getting something returned. Some guy who lives not too far from our house got home from work and his wife told him what she found in the front yard, Shawn's backpack...YAY!!! He was such a nice and honest guy to have it in his heart to take time out of his day to return something so important. When he dropped it off my dad asked him if he found other items in his yard, he said it was just the b-pack. I guess who ever took it didn't care to learn...so he just dropped it off in someone's yard and took the rest. So to that guy who returned the backpack, we are grateful that he is one of the honest people out in our crazy world.

BREAKING NEWS

(ok, it's only breaking news to us, but i did get your attention)

Reported early this morning a Hooper resident Shawn McCrary was going to his car to leave for work, he noticed another car in his driveway with the trunk wide open, he got suspicious and checked his car. When he looked in his car he discovered to find his backpack with all his school books, his sheriff's hat, and his baseball bag have been stolen. He returned into his home and asked his wife and other family members if they had seen them around the house anywhere...nobody had seen any of his belongings. Come to find out his sister-in-law who owns the car that had the trunk open states that she is missing a radar and nintendo 64. If any of you notice a suspicious person wearing a new, crisp sheriff's hat, or maybe carrying expensive bats around, stop them and kindly return the stolen items back to this man who desperately needs them back.

Sad to say all this is true, Shawn had the sheriff's dept come to the house this morning to check it out. They checked for fingerprints and said if they find something they would let him know. All his school books and worksheets were stolen, and those don't come cheap. Even all his baseball gear is gone, he had some pretty expensive bats in there too, sorry to all those who absolutely loved the famous orange bat, that's gone too... :(

Even if you are stopping somewhere real quick, lock them, if you are leaving the house to go for a walk around the block...lock the door. It's pretty scary to know that we cannot trust anyone anymore, and it's not going to get any better.

So as some of you know, we love this holiday and try to go all out. The three years we lived at our house we did a "haunted house" in our garage, the first year was fun, second was better and last year was the best. All the kids in the neighborhood kept coming back just to check everything out, they would come up to shawn and try to get his attention. Shawn would dress up as Michael Meyers from the movie halloween and carry a chainsaw (without the chain) and he would chase the kids up and down the street. It was such a fun time, and we loved watching all the kids, they didn't do trunk or treating in our neighborhood they actually did what we did as kids...walk from house to house. Anyway, it was just announced last week that they won't be doing trunk or treating this year in our area.. YAY!!! I love when the kids come up to the door and they are just so happy to show off their costumes.

So we decided to decorate what we could here at the house, and we see lots of people driving slow just checking things out. Here are some pictures of what we have done, it all looks ok during the day, but it's best at night, we have strobe lights, black lights, and lots of colorful lights all over. Spooky ooky.....

Pumpkin party

This past saturday we invited a few people over for a pumpkin carving party. My sister thought this up, she wanted to make lots of food including pumpkin, we only made pies and a pumpkin roll, didn't want to make too much. Anyway, we also had a carving contest which never got judged, oh well, it was fun just to hang out. After visiting and carving, those of us that were left started watching Monster Squad...."wolfman's got nards" that's the best part of the show. Zjani kept asking if we wanted to bake the pumpkin seeds, my sister and i were kinda ugh..whatev, but Zjani would not give it up, so we gave in and tried something new, i hope she enjoyed them!! They were pretty good, just one after another, i got kind of parched..;) So we put our pumpkins on the porch in the freezing cold, then to see them the next morning all covered in snow was not something we were expecting. Seriously, what the duece??? I thought we were only supposed to get a few inches, maybe a skiff, heck no...we got 11 inches. Here's to a harsh winter!!!

So yesterday Oct 12, 2008 (fast sunday), we were getting ready for church, or at least i was, Shawn was getting something to eat. As he was pouring his bowl of cereal my dad asked "isn't it fast sunday today?" shawn was now pouring the milk and he thought, well i can't let this go to waste, so he went on to eat it. As he started eating, the phone rang....dun, dun, dun.....that's right, someone for the church calling for me and shawn. I was in the bathroom doing my hair and i had the door open so i could hear, and this is what i heard "hello, this is he, yeah we are planning on coming, at 10:30, let me ask my wife.." Uh huh, we had to meet with the bishop before church. We get there and the bishop was asking how we were doing in the ward, and if we were comfortable...he then mentioned that people have asked for our help. So Shawn is now a sunday school teacher for the 14-17 year olds, and I am in the primary, not sure what I am doing, neither does the bishop, but he said we'll find out soon.

We talked about the callings after church, and we both figure it's a blessing to be called, we get to teach the youth, and we get to serve the Lord. We are greatful for our callings, and we feel this will help us spirtually, which is something we both need right now!!

Another Sunday drive

So we love to go on Sunday drives through Ogden canyon, going through Trappers loop, and coming home out through Mtn Green. We went up to Snowbasin to take some pictures, it was a pretty cold and breezy day. I couldn't believe that there was already SNOW, uh huh, SNOW on the mountains...it was so nice to see, i am actually excited for the snow to come. We just took some random pictures and enjoyed eachothers company. I think that's what we are going to do for the rest of our lives, it's kind of lame but we enjoy it.

Koda and Harry were so tired this night, it was way past their bedtime. They normally go to bed about 9:00, and these pictures were taken about 10:00, they are so funny.
